Where prices come from
Global Price Pro collects prices from two types of sources. Confirmed prices are pulled from live retailer listings at the time of your search, using the product page URL as proof. Estimated prices are realistic market-based figures produced by our AI for well-known retailers where the product is likely sold but a live listing could not be verified. Every result is clearly labeled as confirmed or estimated so you always know how much to trust it.
How often prices update
Prices are refreshed on every search. On a search, we delete the previous prices for a product and replace them with a fresh snapshot, so what you see always reflects the latest scan rather than stale data. Historical snapshots are stored over time so you can track price movements and trends. Plan tiers control how frequently your saved products are re-scanned automatically — from a daily refresh up to every 2 hours on higher tiers.
Currency conversion
Each price is stored in its local currency and converted to USD using current exchange rates at the time of the snapshot. The USD figure is what makes cross-country comparison possible: a price in euros, yen, or reais is shown side by side with its USD equivalent so you can rank offers objectively. You can also display results in your preferred currency in the results page.
Product matching
Our AI identifies the product from your URL, image, or description and matches it across retailers by name, brand, reference (SKU/ASIN), and category. We aim for the exact variant — same size, color, and model — and never substitute a different variant to make a price look better. When a match is uncertain, the price is marked as estimated rather than confirmed.
Limitations
Price intelligence is powerful, but it has limits. Prices can change between the moment we scan them and the moment you click through to the retailer. Estimated prices are educated guesses, not live quotes. Shipping costs and import duties vary by destination and are only approximations until you confirm them at checkout. Availability and stock status may lag behind the retailer's actual stock. We recommend treating the data as a decision-making aid, not a guarantee.
How we handle unavailable or incorrect prices
When a retailer listing is unavailable or a price cannot be confirmed, we either omit the result or mark it clearly as estimated — never silently invented. When we detect that a stored price is stale or inconsistent with the current snapshot, it is replaced on the next search. If you spot a price that looks wrong, you can report it so we can improve the matching and freshness of our data.
